What is the importance of workwear?

Workwear provides several benefits for both the company and its employees. On one hand, it represents the brand’s identity and creates a positioning in the minds of clients and the market in general. On the other hand, the most suitable workwear for each company and business provides extra protection for workers, preventing and avoiding workplace accidents. Workwear should fit the user’s body perfectly. However, it should be noted that overly tight clothing can restrict worker mobility and may not provide the desired comfort. Therefore, it is important to ensure proper measurements to guarantee comfort during work activities.

What are the different types of protection that workwear offers?

Within the scope of workwear, there are various types of protection depending on the risks workers are exposed to. Each type must meet specific requirements to ensure worker safety and may have specific categories based on use. • Flame Retardant Workwear: Flame retardant materials are designed to contain or delay combustion. They are widely used in the chemical industry, metallurgy, shipbuilding, fire control, and military defense. After exposure to flames and hot objects, this type of workwear can prevent ignition or burning and protect users from fire or heat damage. Flame retardant does not mean that the fabric will not burn upon contact with fire, but that it will slow down the spread of flames. • Thermal Workwear: Its main function is to maintain the ideal body temperature. Waterproof, thermal, and breathable garments are ideal for this function. • Chemical and Biological Risk Workwear: Chemicals and biological agents can be very harmful and cause significant damage. Therefore, it is crucial to choose professional clothing that prevents direct contact with these materials, inhibits their infiltration, and is resistant to their effects. • High-Visibility Workwear: High-visibility workwear features garments that stand out against any background due to fluorescent colors and strategically placed reflective stripes. Wearing high-visibility clothing helps prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace by ensuring workers are highly visible. This is especially important for workers in the gas and electricity industries, as well as in transportation sectors such as road, rail, and airport. Construction workers, emergency responders, and street and public space cleaners also benefit from increased visibility. Workwear: Industry, Services, Healthcare, Hospitality

Workwear is increasingly seen not just as a means of standardizing employees but as a company’s calling card, responsible for building a stronger corporate identity. For many businesses, workwear represents a constant concern, as it is directly related to employee well-being and instills confidence in those interacting with the organization.

Given its importance, it is essential to take certain care with workwear to ensure it remains durable and always in good condition:

  • High temperatures are always detrimental to fabrics.
  • For difficult stains, consider professional cleaning.
  • Prefer bleaches over chlorine bleach, as chlorine deteriorates fabric fibers in professional attire.
  • Always dry clean garments with linings and interlinings.
  • Use neutral detergents for delicate fabrics.
  • Dissolve detergent thoroughly to avoid stains on professional clothing.
  • Jeans: They naturally fade, so wash them separately or with similar colors. Always turn jeans inside out when washing, avoid stain removers, and do not dry clean them.

Fabrics Used in Workwear

Based on our professional experience and knowledge in producing workwear, here is a brief description of the composition of our garments. Our focus is to offer a high-quality and comfortable product for users of our workwear.

  • Cotton
    • A natural vegetable-based product. Cotton fabric’s main advantages are its good absorption rate, making it more pleasant to wear; the more cotton in a garment, the more comfortable it will be.
    • Allows the body to breathe better and can withstand higher washing temperatures without damage.
    • Has good chemical stability, making it more resistant to contact with water and light.
  • Polyester
    • Today, polyester is a very popular fabric. With the discovery of microfibers, which allow polyester to have a softer feel, this fabric is well-established in the market.
    • Advantages of polyester include its great durability. If you need to purchase a garment that will undergo significant wear (like workwear), it is worth investing in items with a high percentage of polyester.
    • Other characteristics of polyester include resistance to wrinkles, which makes it easier to iron. It also dries quickly and is resistant to abrasion.

Cotton-Polyester Blend

Polyester was combined with cotton fabrics to address some of the issues associated with wearing 100% cotton workwear. Cotton workwear tends to wrinkle easily due to the absorption of natural fibers. Polyester helps maintain its shape and color and can be cleaned easily due to the various treatments applied to the fabric during manufacturing. Cotton-polyester blends are known for their durability and versatility.

Viscose

Shine: Can range from highly lustrous to deeply opaque, depending on preference. Heat Retention: Satisfactory. The soft touch provides a “skin-on-skin” feeling. Even after many washes, Modal remains as soft as on the first day. Modal* absorbs 50% more moisture than cotton, keeping the skin dry and breathable.

Modal is a generic name for rayon, a fiber produced by the viscose process, known for its high tenacity and high moisture elasticity.
