Clothing that offers chemical resistance is that which reduces its degradation by exposure to chemical components while protecting the worker

Chemically resistant workwear is workwear that incorporates fluorocarbon components capable of creating an additional protective layer in the event that the wearer encounters a chemically hazardous situation.

To ensure that this type of workwear is really effective, the European Union has defined standards for the different types/classes of chemical protective clothing

type1 2

Type 1 (EN 943‐2): Protection against solid, liquid and gaseous chemicals.

type3

Type 3 (EN 14605): Protection against strong jets of liquid chemicals (jet test).

type4

Type 4 (EN 14605): Protection against liquid chemicals that are not under pressure (spray test).

type5

Type 5 (ISO 13982): Protection against airborne solid chemical particles. Protects against hazardous dust and dry particles.

type6

Type 6 (EN 13034): limited protection against liquid chemicals.

As a rule, the most popular types are 3 and 4.

Applications:

Manufacture of explosives, refineries, chemicals, manufacture and handling of volatile chemicals, gas warehouses, alcohol manufacture or distilleries, fuel warehouses, silos or other flammable products, oil rig workers, chemical industry.
